Yesterday, on Feb 2, 2009, the day after the
Super Bowl when I got on the Valley Metro Bus
the driver tried to rip off a Black security guard
just like she ripped me off when the
new Valley Metro routes started.
What happened was the bus's fare box stole the guy's money and then the driver told him tough luck you can't have your money back and I am not going to give you and all day ticket. Of course that guy bitched and the woman gave him him a pass in the end. Of course if the woman had ripped off the guy I would have called her an equal oppertunity jerk who treats people bad regardless of their race. Which I think is probably the case. But since the woman gave the guy a pass, while she refused to give me a pass I called her a racist. That is because she ripped off me a White guy, while the guy she started to rip off yesterday, but didn't was a Black guy. Today is Tuesday Feb 3, 2009 and when I got on the bus at 5 am the woman yelled at me. I scanned a copy of my notes which I made after I got off the bus and bought a newspaper. When I got on the bus the lady asked me what I said yesterday. I told her that she ripped me off for a dollar the first time I rode the bus with her. Other then that I refused to answer her questions or say anything, because I didn't want to argue with her. I went to the back of the bus and sat down and just stared at the floor for most of the trip. Next to me was a Latino guy who doesn't seem to speak much English. I wanted to say to him "La mujer es loco", which in Spanish means "The woman driver is crazy", but I didn't. The woman bus driver yelled at me from McDowell Road till we got to either Continental Drive (Roosevelt) or McKellips Road, I doen't remember with because I was pretty much staring at the ground. The woman bus driver yelled at me and said a few things like:
Then the bus driver started yelling at me again. This time she said a few things like:
I guess the lady has every right in the world to yell at me and insult me after all it is a free country and last time I checked the First Admendment has not been declared null and void. Although if I were her employeer, Valley Metro, or the government entity she is performing work for, the City of Tempe, I certainly would not allow her to yell at and insult customers. |
